Junior Litigation Legal Assistant
2+ years litigation experience
needed for this position in addition to working knowledge of Rules and
general litigation practices and procedures.
Practice is a share (2-1)
and is civil litigation/real estate based.
Includes professional liability, planning and municipal law, environmental
law and expropriation. You will be responsible for organizing and expediting
the workflow for 2 lawyers, initiating follow-up as needed, communicating
with clients. You will be involved in drafting correspondence and organizing
and maintaining the majority of client files. Docketing, billing, opening and
closing files.
Position is well suited to
someone who is proactive, able to work with minimum supervision, able to work
within set guidelines but understands the need to be able to establish
priorities. $40-45K.

Business Development Coordinator
Corporate Securities
Junior-Intermediate position
exists for someone with 3 years marketing and/or business development
experience to work with a high-profile, full-service downtown Toronto law firm.
Working within the Marketing
Group, your corporate securities/corporate finance experience and interest are
definite assets as a building block in this position. You’ll be working
within a team and responsible for M&A/Corporate
Finance database updates and maintenance, transaction write-ups for PR
opportunities, RFP database, client presentations, track annual business and
marketing plans. You’ll work with the firm’s webmaster to research
internal/external profile building ops. Assist
with the development of practice group marketing materials including
webcasts, podcasts, strategic briefs to be used in the production of
marketing and advertising material. Work on events, sponsorships, speaking

Senior Patents Assistant
This is a position where career growth is key! In-depth
knowledge of patent prosecution process and PCT International Phase a must.
Experience in US utility and design applications a definite asset. Patent

HR Generalist:
Reporting to Director of HR, your
responsibilities will include support staff recruitment as well as supporting
the HR team. A proven team player, you will liaise with all internal
users and external resources, have a flexible attitude and be able to juggle
priorities. Your HR functions and activities are diversified in this growth
position. You will be responsible for sourcing qualified prospective
employees for permanent positions within the firm, drafting/updating job
descriptions and candidate profiles. You will liaise with external resources
(recruitment companies), screen candidates, schedule and conduct interviews,
test and conduct reference checks, to provide recommendations for hire. You
will participate and/or manage human resources activities and projects,
manage the internal referral program and academic reimbursement program,
coordinate new hires and the ‘buddy program’ for new hires as well as conduct
follow-ups on new hire probations. You will make up monthly night staff and
weekend schedules.
MINIMUM 2-3 years HR experience, preferably
within services industry – law firm experience will be given preference.
Undergrad degree/diploma in HR required. Excellent communication skills a
must. Good knowledge of MS Office needed and familiarity with DMS/HRIS system
definitely a plus. Some overtime will be required; therefore, flexible
morning/evening schedule needed. $45K-$50K.
